OUR STORY

As co-founders of the Gunn Women in STEM Club, Sarah and Naira hoped to spread their message of women in STEM empowerment beyond the grounds of their high school. As Kim Weeden, a professor of sociology at Cornell University, contends, the gender differences in academic plans emerge early in one's career. Due to their desire to challenge this STEM gender gap and create an impact at an early age, Sarah and Naira brought together sixteen passionate members of the Gunn Women in STEM Club and, together, hosted the very first STEM With Us enrichment program for elementary schoolers.
